Last year I started a new tradition of highlighting a few of my favorite Christmas ornaments. For me, Christmas time is full of memories of being with family, big hearts and hugs, a time when we always made it a priority to be with each other over a meal....and usually I convinced my family to play corny board games all evening (only child syndrome).
The glimmer of the Christmas tree brings floods of memories....and also unique and meaningful ornaments. As I mentioned in Special Christmas Memories 2011, I'm a bit sentimental....and wish to log all of my favorite ornaments for both my self...but also for my children and grandchildren of the future.
Angel ~ my mom gifted this lovely vintage homemade ornament to me this year. So dainty & elegant. She knows my taste so well ;)
Beady Bells ~ these colorful bells were some of my mom's favorites (at least from my memory)....when I moved into my own place, she gifted them to me for my 1st 'adult' Christmas tree
Airplane propeller ~ my dad rescued this airplane propeller from a vintage toy....makes a super cute ornament.
I highlighted these cute homemade ornaments in my post last year as well...but this year I wanted to show the adorable hand written note on the lid of the tin they came in a few years ago. Lasting Grandma B memories.
Wishing you a beautifully wrapped Christmas Eve full of cherished memories.

I love old ornaments and still have a few of my favorites from 20+ years ago (wow, that dates me!) on my tree each year! Merry Christmas to you!

Hello Sani! Thank you for the thoughtful comment. I adore older ornaments, they were made with such care and unique-ness! Brag all about them :) Merry Christmas!
DeleteOld ornaments make a tree feel so cozy & interesting to gaze at while you're laying on the couch with all the lights dimmed except the tree lights. Glad you enjoyed your two new additions this year. Love, Mom & PaFuss
ReplyDeleteAww! You are absolutely right mom! Cozy is the perfect word.
DeleteThese lovely treasures are the best things of all, aren't they? They keep our memories with us throughout a lifetime--no doubt. Happy holidays! T.
