Today's #MyYoga experience was an amazing practice on beach. Waking up to 40 degree weather here this morning broke my heart as I really hoped for 'warm' weather to soak up the sun in. I immediately turned my spirit around as I decided to go for a 6 mile walk to experience my surroundings here in Fort Myers Beach followed by the the most amazing yoga practice on the beach.
Once I arrived with my toes in the sand for practice the weather was a perfect blue sky with absolutely no clouds, a chill temperature of 58 degrees....perfect for a heated practice.
Although it was windy, the breeze did not feel like a sand bath, instead it was cooling and soft
Birds chirping, palm trees bristling in the background of ocean waves and the warmth of the sun heating the body on a chill beach afternoon.
Opening my eyes after a brief meditation where it seemed the corners of my mouth were tilted upward in a smile that does not ...has never come before...during a meditation practice; My eyes open to first see the sand and as I continue to flutter my eyes...the horizon of the water, sun glistening over the waves...truly a magical experience.
Even an hour later I feel as If I'm floating! .... Best beach experience ever ....blissful beach.
Have you found your blissful beach experience? Maybe take your mat to a nearby park or pond...really an grassy patch....roll out the opportunity for an amazing outdoor practice!

Practicing yoga on the beach is on my bucket list; thank you for sharing! Looks like you're having a fab time in FLA. :)
ReplyDeleteYes!!!! It's absolutely an amazing experience. It seems much more blissful in the pictures, as there are ants, wind, uneven ground...etc. The beauty of yoga on the beach is when you can surpass all of THAT stuff even if just for a few moments to really experience the EXPERIENCE and just be in the moment to move, breath and fall into your yoga practice.
DeleteNow I want to go to the beach :)
ReplyDeleteAs Tina mentioned above it's definitely a bucket list life event!
