Final Teaching...Tribute to my Fellow Teacher Graduates!

Today was a day full of yoga! What an amazing and inspiring day. A group of about 20 teachers in training are practicing their final teaching this weekend ~ 5 groups today and 2 groups tomorrow. We were split into groups of 3 or 4 people, and each group was responsible for teaching an hour yoga class. I was so excited for today to come, and have been preparing for it for weeks (I suppose you could say months, since teacher training started in February!) J

I was in a group of 4, and we were also the 4^th group to teach today. It was wonderful to experience 3 other full classes prior to teaching; it helped calm me to know the amazing woman that have learned along side of me over the last 3 months were teaching outstanding yoga classes. Feeling the energy of each other through voice, touch (during assists) and amazing sequences; was fuel for my own upcoming teaching.

The moment I stepped into the teaching role, during today’s final teaching, something inside of me clicked. I think it had everything to do with the many hours of practice with my guinea pigs, my husband and of course my teaching group; but there was something uniquely different about today. There was a confidence inside me that let me teach from my authentic place, from my own voice. I believe it had everything to do with assisting students while teaching; breathing with someone through one pose and moving with them to the next pose – as if their energy and confidence in their own ability was transferring to me. So, I thank the entire class today for your energy! It was truly an amazing experience.

How often do we have such an opportunity to hear so many different unique teaching voices in one day, who all trained in the same place, but who have blossomed into their own individual teaching personality. All different and all beautiful!  I honor the teacher in all of my fellow tranquil space teachers! Here is my tribute to our time together in TT2 (teacher training 200 hour) with some glimpses from our practice spaces, our mats, the windows and plants that made our tranquil space…and of course a few stars, for the star in each of us!
