Hidden in the Seed this Spring

During the Anusara class I visited yesterday, the teacher had a theme related to planting seeds and cultivating them, in honor of this spring. During the final pose of class, savasana, she read the following poem (and was sweet enough to share with me via email).

Hidden in the Seed

Do not dig the seed out,
seeking roots.  What's
been plented will bear
fruit.  Be patient.  Wait
through days of rain
and scorching sun.
Wait through times
when pain seems to be

all you are cultivating.

The small green shoot
will only come when
conditions are just right,
when there is enough
light but not so much
that new growth shrivels
in the sun.  Rest and
patience sets the scene
for the miracle that's
hidden in the seed.
