The Versatile Blogger Award

A yogini friend from the 200 hour yoga teacher training (TT 200) recently awarded me the "Versatile Blogger Award", which I have to admit, I had never heard of until I read her post. That being said, I am extremely honored to have been granted the responsibility to pass this award on to other bloggers. I think it's like playing a game of 'tag'...but in cyberspace. I like it...totally fun.

First, I must thank S Stone, from Ripple of One Stone for passing the Versatile Blogger Award my way. We both completed TT 200 together, and we also started blogging around the same time. It's interesting how during yoga teacher training you meet others who are also seeking and reevaluating life, career choices and also have a passion for yoga and spreading the yoga love. Sara was exactly one of those individuals who I could easily relate to as we had a lot in common, both recently married, from the corporate/professional world by day and yoga lover by evening/weekend. She has embarked on many new paths since teacher training and it's always great to catch up with her on her blog.

Well...for the rules of the award. It seems I am obliged to share 7 things about myself...so here goes:

  1. I have been married twice, in one year...to the same man. Yes, this was mostly for logistical purposes, my fiancé at the time was being promoted from the Chicago area to Washington DC. Although we were engaged already and our wedding was planned for September 2010....we married on a very cold day in February 2010 (as my husband would say...it was like filing our taxes early) to enable a smooth move for the BOTH of us to D.C.
  2. I lived in Germany for my junior year of high school when I was 17 years old. My mother was born in Germany and I have many relatives that still live there...so being an exchange student to my 'homeland' was an amazing opportunity.
  3. I studied in China for 2 months when I was 21...sensing a theme that I love to travel...I love oriental art, Chinese characters...which drove me to take a few courses in mandarin before stepping into a 2 month 'How to do Business in China' program during college. AMAZING!
  4. I want to be creative...it doesn’t mean that I am...but I long to find a way to express my creativity, so much so that I took a pottery class a few years back....ok, about 8 years ago...my pieces came out less than beautiful, but I proudly display them in our home.
  5. I love country music…the new upbeat ‘poppy’ style
  6. I could peanut butter by the spoonfuls…wait...I actually DO do this
  7. My absolute favorite breakfast is Greek yogurt with honey and granola. Seriously DELISH!
