Flow into a new year with intention.......

I almost titled this post. "Skating into a new year", because my hubby and I went ice skating last night & I snapped a picture of our skates (shown below)...and the corny-ness came out and I said, we are 'skating into the new year'. So whether you decide to skate, flow, fall, dive, run, or ~ whatever your action of choice is ~ into the new year; I propose we do it with intention.

In July, I posted 'Is your year half empty or half FULL', where I described how a dream is only a dream until you can set it to goals and action items. As 2011 has come to an end and 2012 is off to a skating start, this is the perfect time for reflection of completed goals, re-dedication to ongoing projects, intention setting for new dreams.

First, a quick re-cap of 2011:

....whooo...I thought that was going to be short, and I definitely did not include everything. It is amazing at how much one can accomplish in a year, especially after you write it all down. There were a few things that I had on my wish list for 2011 that I wasn't able to accomplish this year....so they will be top priority for 2012.....

Looking forward to diving into 2012 with the intentions:
  • Kickstart the new year with a few health boost habits via 21 day challenges; yoga every day, & aspire to be vegan with this 21 day challenge & alcohol free
  • Write a review of all of the yoga books I've read
  • Complete Advanced Teacher Training, including a "Thesis" project (YIKES -I've never done a thesis before)
  • Visit New York with the hubby (this skated over from 2011~ Excited to say I booked it for February!)
  • Visit New York on a single date with myself for a splash of yoga and shopping
  • White water rafting (maybe in Harper's Ferry)
  • Visit the Pope Leighey Frank Lloyd Wright House
  • A form of yoga everyday
  • 5 Yoga teaching goals for 2012:
    • experiment with taking various yoga styles
    • experiment with my own personal sequencing
    • experiment with music playlists
    • practice meditation
    • practice with teaching various levels of yoga and workshops
  • Weekly Date Night with hubby
  • Experiment cooking with hubby as his Sous Chef
  • Continue to understand and grow within my day job - the accounting world
  • Continue house search
  • Create at least one new stained glass project
  • 1 or 2 destination half marathons (walk/running)
Well 2012! Here we go!

P.S....reminder that if any of these intentions do not suit me in time, its completely OK to let them go.

Have you thought about your intentions for the year? Even if you are reading this in March or June or August...it's never too late to pen a few of your intentions.
