Planning a splash of color into your everyday

Inspiration from Kimberly Wilson's post on her planner pad creation and many other Tranquil Space yogi's have convinced me to revert back to a 'paper' calendar because it's so much more fun than the Iphone. (Plus losing my iphone calendar due to synching issues also played a big role in this conversion...at least I'll have a backup plan) Granted, this is not the death of the Iphone calendar or its reminders, as they often save me from forgetting to do things....but how can you deny the creativity of decorating and adding a dash of fun to your everyday.

The Planner Pad is the specific calendar that has been raved about in the Tranquil Space community. So...I thought I'd try it out. But..I really think you could probably use any planner that you find (next year, I may peruse the dollar store to see if I can find something).

It took me several nights of flipping through magazines, tearing out the pictures that inspired me the most or just grabbed my attention...and several additional nights to lay out the design of the front and back covers...and in addition some of the inside covers just for more fun! OH...and I had to make a few trips to CVS for various kinds of tape.

Original Planner Pad
Decorated front and back with Pink contact paper that I found in my wrapping paper bin
 (I think I've had literally since high-school)
 Ready to decorate.....

The final result of the Front
~looking to set new habits, sleeping earlier and more, transforming my eating patterns, feeling beautiful and classy with a dash of pizzaz ~

Front Inside Covers
~ Full of inspirational words and graphics of fresh vegetables from the farmers market...and the one pose (i know this is mostly my ego talking) that I would like to practice this year ~

Back inside cover
~ Love hammocks!!! some inspiration for a vacation hopefully and dedication to my practice ~

Back Cover
~ Love Audrey Hepburn, she just radiates beautiful elegance, a reminder that time is often of the essence, challenging myself to leave ordinary behind and embrace sparkly, shiny, sweet life ~

P.S....I have ALWAYS wanted to take a hot air balloon ride...not sure if it will happen this year....but just loved the picture...or maybe if hubby is reading this *HINT HINT*

To help protect the front and back covers I taped them with clear packing tape, inside covers I used double stick tape, which for now I think is sufficient.

Keep an eye out each month for the monthly themed decorated pages with that month's wish list!!

Have you thought about ways to infuse feeling like a little kid again into your daily life. I know it seems crazy..but cutting and gluing and taping was so much fun...and really does spark and reinforce one's desires. Make the time next time you are watching a TV show to tear some pages out of your favorite magazine!
