Yoga while watching TV?

Yes, why not? Sometimes, I want to veg out and watch a little TV and yet I also am really craving a pigeon pose. So...why can't I have both?

Guess what...I can have both!
Today's tip: Stretch via Yoga Poses in front of the TV

Although stretching in yoga poses while I watch TV does not replace a heart-felt, mind calming, stress reducing, reflective yoga practice .... it does help me stretch out after a long day at work sitting in an office chair....and physically feels great. So although this may not be my practice everyday...it is absolutely OK to be my practice sometimes. Give yourself permission to incorporate yoga into your day in any way that works!

Bottom left....new favorite low back stretch!!! Feels so great after a few back bends such as pigeon with quad stretch, top right
Today's Practice:

  • 10 minutes total
  • Pigeon
  • Pigeon with quad stretch
  • Variation of child's pose, remain on toes, open knees out to side and reach arms forward inside of knees - great low back stretch
  • Toe stretches - great after wearing heels all after work

  1. Why is a a "duty" for Americans to watch TV ???
    TV is crap ! (90%...)
I choose Yoga without any hesitation and I'm so much happier...

  2. Totally agree! I stretch at the office, after a workout...wherever I feel I need to! And, I've enjoyed legs up the wall while watching tv--from time to time. It's all good! :)
