Inspirational Book Club ~ June Pick

Announcement of June's Inspiring Book Club meet-up!

Join me for a vinyasa yoga class at 7pm followed by discussion of The Power of Habit at 8:20pm. If you can't make the yoga class....please still join the group for the book's discussion at 8:20pm.

June will be our 3rd Inspiring Meet-up. It has been a tremendous amount of fun meeting new like minded individuals in the community. Although we are similar in the sense we each want to embark on transformation, understand a deeper sense of community and engage in discussion .....we are each unique and bring a beautiful, different perspective to the discussion. After each meeting I walk away feeling so lifted and humbled by the interactions.

Where: Shine wellness studio
Date: June 25th
Book Club: 8:20 pm
Bring: A snack & insights to share

I am excited to take this reading adventure with you! If you have any recommendations for future book club themes, please let me know!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Book Reviews ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Entertaining, an enjoyable book…a serious look at the science of habit formation and change.” —New York Times Book Review
"Duhigg brings a heaping, much-needed dose of social science and psychology to the subject, explaining the promise and perils of habits via an entertaining ride that touches on everything from marketing to management studies to the civil-rights movement… a fascinating read.”—Newsweek Daily Beast
“A fascinating exploration of our pathologically habitual society — we smoke, we incessantly check our BlackBerrys, we chronically choose bad partners, we always (or never) make our beds. Duhigg digs into why we are this way, and how we can change, both as individuals and institutionally.” —The Daily
“Charles Duhigg masterfully combines cutting-edge research and captivating stories to reveal how habits shape our lives and how we can shape our habits. Once you read this book, you’ll never look at yourself, your organization, or your world quite the same way.”
—Daniel H. Pink, author of #1 New York Times bestselling Drive and A Whole New Mind
  2. Good book pick! It's pretty non-technical so it is really accessible to a broad audience. I never really thought of using it in the context of yoga but it actually lines up really nicely. Enjoy!
  3. This looks like a fantastic read! I'm going to suggest it to my book club; we just finished reading “Secrets of a Spiritual Guru” by Tamara Lee Dorris and we all loved it. Check out her website, http://tamaradorris.net/! Thanks for the book suggestion!
