Healthy Tip ~ Take a Retreat ~ 23 retreat ideas


Have you ever felt a bit disconnected from yourself and those around you? Maybe a bit burnt out from the daily routine? Sluggish...in need of a recharge?

A retreat can be exactly what you need to restore. Retreats provide you the opportunity to focus exactly on what is most important - yourself. You can only support, love, care for your family and put your all into your work if you take care of yourself first!


If you live in the Louisville or Cincinnati area, here are two yoga retreats I am excited to attending myself this October...maybe they are of interest to you as well:


Retreats can be weekend get-a-ways, vacations, excursions to a local spa or an evening in your bathtub with bubbles. Be creative with your retreat ideas.

Here are a few less expense self care retreat ideas for you:

  1. Take a bubble bath
  2. Meditate
  3. Take a nap
  4. Take a bike ride
  5. Join a bookclub (or other walking, running, hiking, biking club)
  6. Read a book you've been wanting to forever
  7. Take a long walk (maybe with a camera for some fun/unique nature shots)
  8. Find a free yoga class, guided mediation or guided yoga nidra on YouTube
  9. Journal ~ writing, art or gratitude
  10. Cuddle with your family
  11. Give a Hug, Take a Hug
  12. Pet your animal (it helps to reduce stress...seriously, it works)
  13. Make a delicious meal from a recipe that entices you
  14. Take yourself on an Artist Date
  15. Plant flowers
  16. Plant a garden
  17. Massage
  18. Manicure/Pedicure
  19. Have a dance party by yourself
  20. Seems strange...but cleaning out your closets can feel really 'cleansing'
