Tofutti Cuties = YUMMY in the TUMMY!

I got a phone call from my husband last week after teaching my 8pm yoga class with a CRAVING for ice cream.

If I haven't mentioned it already we've been Vegetarian/Vegan-ish since September ("ish" means there are on very rare occasion where we enjoy pizza (with real cheese) or in my case sushi.) However, we have made our best efforts to eat in a more healthy, sustainable, green, eco friendly way. I have to admit it has opened up the door to soooo many new foods or concoctions of spices, veges, greens, grains etc. It's been a lot of fun being my husband's sous chef as he cooks...I do love the fruits of his labor over the stove.

But...back to this ice cream craving. I went into Safeway, the perfectly located grocery store next to Tranquil Space, the yoga studio, on the hunt for soy ice cream....and I happened to run into Kimberly Wilson...who ironically was on a run for Tofutti Cuties. She stopped me in my tracks...and I just had to smile and laugh at the name....and of course ask her what she was talking about because I had no idea.

Seriously...the cutest name ever for ice cream sandwiches. The name is so adorable, I had to buy a box just to experiment with their taste, plus I think it was a sign because they had mint, which is the hubby's favorite.

In the first day, rather the first 10 minutes of entering the house we went from 8 sandwiches to 4! They are delish!

However, on that same trip, just in case the Tofutti cuties were not cutie-pies and delish, I also bought So Delicious, a dairy free brand. I actually think this is my NEW favorite 'frozen dessert', especially this brand of Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl.....

...Brings me back to my childhood, I think my mom and I equally LOVED chocolate peanut butter ice cream and I can remember lot of evenings relaxing with her on the couch eating our gargantuan bowls of chocolate peanut butter ice cream, I loved it when I would get a scoop with a huge chunk of peanut butter.

With the warm weather arriving, what will be some of your favorite Vegan-"ish" desserts? Would love to hear your ideas!

Sweet Dreams Tofutti Cuties!
