January's Steps toward a great 2013

January's Art Journal Visions
  • Celebrate my Birthday! I'm not usually too excited about birthday's....but for some reason, I'm really excited about 2013 and although this is not a 'round number' significant birthday, I'm excited to share it with friends & family.
  • Launch Buddha Camp at Shine Louisville ~ Mon & Wed early morning mindful strength building yoga ~ starts Jan. 14th ~ details here
  • Start to create habits identified in my Embracing 2013 post:
    • Invert weekly
    • Yoga Daily...even if just taking a few moments to BREATHE or simply 1 pose
    • Journal weekly
    • Mantra, goal, intention action item determination weekly
  • Participate in Boost your Willpower sponsored by Yoga Journal ~ starts Jan. 14th
    • Sign up for free to receive daily emails with asana, mediation & self reflection exercise
  • Veganuary ~ approach the new year mindfully with Vegan meals (yes...that means no cheese, eggs or milk ...or anything made with those ingredients). Thank goodness I found Vegan Bread!!! Interested in experimenting with going Vegan? Here is a great kickstart program with 21 days of ideas
  • Embrace the challenge of my new 9-5+ role. Dig Deeper to understand and create a mindful approach to organization without 'stressing'.
  • Indulge in:
    • a massage (and schedule a few for the upcoming months to commit to self-care)
    • an Artist Date
  • Read & Grow
    • Play with finding books for my Kindle (new Christmas present I am learning to embrace...if you have any kindle book tips or ideas, I'd love to hear them!)
    • Work through Chapter 3 of Artist's Way

  1. Love your reminder that even one pose or mindful breathing counts toward a daily yoga practice! :)

    1. I saw you also had yoga pose daily on your list.... It's really nice to think outside the box with this - One of my favorite mid day things to do is bring my hands behind my back, clasp finger, squeeze shoulder blades together....all as I'm walking to the restroom or printer...great release :)
