Sometimes we just want to be told what to do. On some days it can be easier for us to focus on our actions mindfully if we are simply told what actions to take. Alleviates some of the thinking. We often find ourselves freezing on our mat at home, especially if when we are newer to our yoga mats, to determine what poses to do and in what order. I know I did for many years....so I just wouldn't practice at home.

Today's tip :
Play Follow the Yoga Leader
- Use a yoga CD (you can buy these practically everywhere and if you are new to yoga and still looking for the yoga style you enjoy, you can rent them from the library)
- There are many, seriously way too many, free classes you can find on the Internet; especially if you are looking for a shorter class, between 10 and 20 minutes.
- Listen to audio podcasts via a smart phone or ipod device. A few examples I've found for free on Itunes:
- Paid guided classes - sometimes it can be worth it to pay for a service, so that you receive consistent service per your needs, by qualified teachers who also provide variety of yoga options
- YogaGlo - I love yogaglo because you can tailor your practice based on yoga style, level you feel your practice is at, how long you'd like to practice and even if you want to target a certain part of the body (ex: shoulders or hamstrings). They also have a 15 day free trial period!
- YogaToday - another option I've used in the past also with great teachers and sequences
What are some of your favorite guided yoga resources outside of a yoga studio?
