#MyYoga Month ~ Personal Practice Tips

As I continue to find ways to incorporate yoga into my daily life as I transverse the waves of daily life, living in the corporate accounting world by day, teaching yoga by early morning, post work and weekend hours...and still fitting in time to spend with my husband, exercise  1/2 marathon training,  personal growth (aka my Simply Grow mantra for the year), quality time with friends and building community....and we can't forget all of the other enjoying moments of life (kitty loving, favorite TV shows, laundry, grocery shopping, etc)...it's often difficult to find time to actually squeeze my own yoga practice in.

I presume many yogis and for that matter, really anyone who lives, works and chooses to engage in a full life; feels the same as I do. So...this is the the month of

~ #MYYOGA ~

It is my personal goal to share with you tips on having your own personal yoga practice each day this month. They will be simple, brief and easy to incorporate into your routine. They will be what yoga elements I was personally able to incorporate into my day. I would love if you followed me via my YogaTwistOnLife facebook page, Instagram or Twitter, or right here on this blog. Please share your daily yoga experiences with the hashtag #MYYOGA so we can share in each other's experiences.

Today's Simple Yoga Tip: Find a spot to practice.

  • Clear a space, without clutter or distraction
  • Add in natural light if you have the opportunity - it's just pretty!
  • You don't even need a yoga mat - use a towel or blanket as padding if you feel you need it
  • Finding a spot to practice can be simple or overwhelming. Don't get too caught up in the perfection of your yoga space. The important thing is you are practicing, not necessarily the 'Zen-ness' of the space. You can always add (or take away) from the space later.
Our spare bedroom around 9am on a Saturday morning. Beautiful light coming into the space. This is my predetermined yoga space, I have a yoga mat and 2 blocks, as well as a few pillows to act as cushion when needed, available. However,  I often practice in many other areas in our home, including my bedroom and living room - future tips to be shared.

Looking forward to getting our OM on together!
