Happy New Year ~ My trick to a happy New Year + Resources + Video

My favorite thing about December 31st is the anticipation and excitement for a full year of new possibilities. Who doesn't love to dream about the future?....we all did as a child. Remember the infamous, when I grow up I'm going to be......

What each January 1st brings is an opportunity to dream, imagine 365 days full of steps towards your infinite possibilities. We always like to say we are 'busy'....lately I've been re-framing this tendency to consider myself 'busy' and instead think about the days as 'full' rather than 'empty', full of opportunity, , resolutions, goals, steps towards your defined success...even if the day has no plans, sometimes a carefree day is just as 'full' as a fully scheduled day.

I enjoy sitting down around the 1st of the year with my journal, my calendar for the next year, images of inspiration, lots of colored pens and markers, a cup of coffee, followed by several cups of tea, a lit candle and of course the Christmas tree still glimmering in the background..... and visually dream out my year on paper.

Here are some great resources to inspire; prompts and ideas to move the creative energy within:
One of my favorite ways to reflect on the past year is to scan through the pictures of the year. Pictures trigger strong memories of days before and after the picture was taken. Looking back at 2013, the year I chose Simply Grow as my mantra, it truly was an amazing year full of special visits with family and friends, growing my exposure to the Louisville culture, making new friends, learning how to ride a bike with clip in shoes, traveling, running, walking, inspirational book club, yoga retreats.....a year full of special moments. Excited to share this video of some (only 71 pictures ...said sarcastically) of my BEST, MOST FAVORITE, Had a BLAST moments! I encourage you to look through your camera roll and remember with a smile on your face too!
